1/28/06 Gregg Duke and Richard from Cary, NC onboard this morning hoping for a trout bite... That's exactly what we got today... a slow, steady bite throughout the day starting with a 2.5lber on the first cast... wish it always happened like that. We fished from 7am to 2pm to land 26 keeper trout with all but 2 fish ranging from 1.5lbs to 4.25 with lots of 2 to 3+lb fish. We also managed about 15 puppydrum from 14 to 17in. Great Job Guys! Enjoy those fillets! Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE CHARTERS- jcronk@ec.rr.com- 910-326-7512. Still some open dates for Febuary Trout and Red Drum Posted by Picasa

1/23/06 I had Raz (from Swansboro) and Doug (from Beaufort) on board today for an 8 hour trip. We worked the ocean hard for trout but the front that passed over slowed the bite today... we averaged a trout or puppydrum every 15 to 20 minutes to land 18 trout with 14 keeps, another 6.2lb, a 3.8lb, and the rest from 1 to 2.5lbs. We also landed about a dozen small puppydrum from 15 to 17in. Slow compared to the past 6 trips but by no means shabby for late January in NC. Great Job Guys... Capt. 1/21/06 I had Jason Guthrie (Sprint Tech), Adam Carter (Marine Fisheries Officer), and Will (Coast Guard) aboard today. Talk about Pressure... The morning started off wrong, just wrong, The wind looked like it was blowing, then out on the water Adam decided he was going to have to make mud pies, Will had some major Acid Indigestion, and Jason had a migrane... First two hours NO FISH... Then,,,, the first aid kit saved the day... Adam found use of the Gauze, Will found some antacid pills, and Jason ate up all the asprin... The fish started biting and all was well. We wound up fishing hard for 8hrs to land over 50 speckled trout with 36 good fish from 1.5 to 6.2lbs (6 citation trout today with 3 in the 5's and largest 6.2). Also landed over 40 red drum from 15 to 18in. and 1 black drum about 1lb. Great Job Guys! Awsome Catching! Capt. 1/12 Fished a full day with Rick Patterson and his father aboard. We wore out the trout and red drum all day... What a day! We boated upwards of 200 speckled trout with 70 or more at the 2 to 3lb range and a few over 3lbs including a 5lber... and lost a trout from 6 to 7lbs at the net.. also landed about 40 redfish from 16 to 20in. We caught lots of fish on the Berkley Gulp shrimp and did really well using live spots, shad, and mud minnows. Below is 20 purty trout on the deck and a shot of 10 more bigens in the livewell... Great Day on the water... lots of fish... good company... and 70 degree temps with no wind! What a January! Capt. Jeff Cronk - FISH'N4LIFE CHARTERS- 910-326-7512. Posted by Picasa

Mike Taylor with a 2lb speckled trout... this past weekend the trout and puppydrum were biting good along the beaches as well as in some creeks along the sound. Most of the puppy drum in the creeks are from 16 to 19in. and along the surf there are fish up to 10+ lbs mixed in... the warming trend should cause an increased bite... larger trout up the creeks have turned on as well... a handful of trout from 4 to 7lbs have been caught on artificials this week in area creeks... Expect Reds and Trout all winter with the bite turning off an on along with the weather conditions. warmer days with mid day to afternoon best for the trout and pups in the creeks and no wind to N NW breezes with good sunlight for the reds in the surf... check back for pictures later this week.... January Dates almost gone... booked Jan. 12,14,15,16,23 openings Jan.21, 24,28,29. Expect Striper throughout January along with Reds, and Trout. Thanks again for your support, Capt. 12/31/05 Fished the 1st ever Striper Tourny out of Swansboro Today along with Capt. Mike Taylor and his hunting buddy, Tony. Fishing was slow today with only a few hookups. We had one good blitz of fish busting the surface around the boat and I managed to get this 45lb 14oz pig to slam a topwater popper and fought him on a 7ft med light spinning set-up with 14lb test! Man what a rush.... he is going to replace the 39lb 11oz. on my wall caught on Jan. 1 2005. Thanks to Mike and Tony for the teamwork and great job with the gaff mike! Fish never bled a drop. Capt.
