12/31/05 Fished the 1st ever Striper Tourny out of Swansboro Today along with Capt. Mike Taylor and his hunting buddy, Tony. Fishing was slow today with only a few hookups. We had one good blitz of fish busting the surface around the boat and I managed to get this 45lb 14oz pig to slam a topwater popper and fought him on a 7ft med light spinning set-up with 14lb test! Man what a rush.... he is going to replace the 39lb 11oz. on my wall caught on Jan. 1 2005. Thanks to Mike and Tony for the teamwork and great job with the gaff mike! Fish never bled a drop. Capt.
