3/25 Trout,Flounder,Redfish..

Sun. 3/25 This morning I had one of my regular clients, Folden Lee, aboard along with his 10yr old daughter. Folden has definately raised a fishing buddy for a daughter and cute as a doll too. Well, it was a little slow today as we were fishing some areas trying to put a big trout in the box while hiding from 15 to 20mph winds. But, we managed to find a few fish and even a couple of inshore slams. We hooked up with 6 trout, lost 2... and landed two flounder and two redfish. The largest trout was right at 3lbs. Great job guys and enjoyable as always. Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE CHARTERS- Swansboro, NC - 910-326-7512

3/19/07 3 Citation Trout!

Monday 3/19 Well, Capt. Mike Taylor and I both shot out on the water this afternoon looking for some big trout... I got smoked in the couple hours we fished today. Mike's 4 largest trout were 3.7lbs, 4lbs, 5.05lbs, and 5.1lbs... My largest was 2.25lbs so I won't even talk about the rest of my trout and flounder as they no longer seem to matter... all I can say is that he will be rubbing it in for a few days! Folks, both Mike and I are booking fast for Spring Trout fishing as well as Albacore, Bonito, and Redfish. If you want a chance at some big trout or some good numbers of average size trout call asap... Capt. Jeff Cronk 910-326-7512 and Capt. Mike Taylor 252-725-2623.

3/17 Trout Fishing was HOT!

Sat. 3/17 I had the pleasure of fishing with Tony, James, and Casey today. The weather wasn't the best with morning temps in the upper 30's and the wind kicking 15 to 20+ most of the day out of the WNW... but we were determined to get out and put our best effort into it. Close to the inlet the water temps were about 54degrees.... and up the river the temps were 57+ degrees. We worked live mud minnows and Berkley Gulp baits throughout the day and found good numbers of trout. In all we wound up keeping 22 Speckled Trout, 3 Gray Trout, and a 2+lb Flounder. We released close to 100 smaller trout and 2 small flounder and kept fish from about 13in to 20in. with our largest at 2.5lbs. Capt. Mike Taylor was also out with a crew onboard today and we met up a few times on a good bite. As it often occurrs, at the end of the day Mike and his group showed up back to the dock about the same time as our group and our catch was just about identical... they also kept 22 Trout while releasing lots of small fish. Great day of fishing despite the weather.... This Spring is already proving to be another great one for Trout! Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512 EMAIL JCRONK@EC.RR.COM

3/14/07 Citation Speckled Trout!

3/14/07 I had a friend hop onboard this afternoon for a couple of hours before sunset. We fished locally... checking out the trout bite at a few holes. We were casting small Berkley Gulp Baits. The water temps here in Swansboro are 60 degrees in the sound and 65 to 67 in the creeks. The fish are beginning to gnaw. During our 2-hr trip, We wound up landing 5 speckled trout and a 19in redfish. The largest spec was 4.05lbs for another 2007 Citation! Sweeeet. Capt. Mike Taylor fished a few days this week and is finding the same results... With catches of 10 to 20trout in 4hr to 6hr trips the Spring Trout fishing is on.... Mike had two citations this week with one just over 4lbs and one just over 5lbs. There are redfish biting inside as well as some southern flounder beginning to show. The grey trout are moving in and the bluefish should be here shortly. And, I'm sure there are some Albacore working nearshore too. Enjoy those fish Ashley! Capt. 3/11/07 Another Inshore Slam Today...

3/11/07 I had a regular client onboard this morning to go find some of those local trout. Steve and I set out about 8:00am. We went a different direction this morning in hopes of a couple big trout. The water temps in these creeks was a bit low and a stiff wind picked up blowing from the wrong direction. It was a tough couple hours to start the morning and we moved on to find some fish in some shallow water protected from the wind. We wound up landing 5 nice trout, 2 redfish, and 1 flounder. Congrats to Steve on his first inshore slam. Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512- jcronk@ec.rr.com

Sat. 3/11/07 Inshore Slams Plus!

3/11/07 We left the dock around 8:00am this morning with Mike Wellspeak and crew aboard looking for some trout/reds. It started out a little chilly with water temps about 55 and a slow bite. But the water temps came up to around 58 and the bite picked up. Most of our fish came off small Berkley gulp baits and Berkley Powerbaits fished on very light jigheads to keep our baits off the bottom and out of the "terd moss." Over the course of the trip we had about 45 strikes/hook-ups and managed to land 32 fish and again 7 species again this week. We had 15 redfish (1 tagged), 7 speckled trout, 2 flounder, 5 largemouth bass, 1 crappie, 1 chain pickerel, and a small catfish. We kept the trout and released everything else today. Great weather and great fishing. Mike, it was a pleasure having you guys onboard today. Let me know how you do next trip out. Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512

Sat.3/3 7 DIFFERENT SPECIES (31 FISH)

Saturday, March 3rd- Well, today was interesting to say the least. I had Jody Mills and his Father-in-law, Joel, onboard. Taking into account the wind forecast and the "terd moss" that blooms and dies each Spring in the shallow flats, bays, and creeks in areas of high salinity, I decided to target upriver areas. The water temps in the creeks and bays are also as much as 10 degrees higher than out in the open waters as darker and shallower waters warm much quicker. We grabbed a few bags of Berkley Gulp Baits and set out about 9:00am after the sun got up and warmed things up a little. We fished hard from 9:30 till 5:00pm and all of our effort payed off! We had dozens of strikes and wound up with an unusual variety of fish... For anyone not sure about Berkley Gulp's ability to produce the type of fish you are after.... check this out... All three of us were casting only Berkley's SW baits and we boated 15 redfish, 4 Striper (1 tagged), 4 Flounder, 3 Speckled Trout, 1 Bowfin, 1 Largemouth Bass, and a MONSTER Chain Pickerel (PIKE). I saw several boats in the area of which only one other boat had similar results. The other boat was Capt. Rick Patterson who was also tossing Berkley Gulp Baits. My wife tells me that all I do is fish... you know, she is right... I sit and think about the hundreds of different baits I've fished for each species over the years like many other fishermen. It was often a guessing game.... what lure... what color... what time of day... what time of year... Berkley's Gulp SW baits have changed everything. It seems to be the only artificial bait a fisherman needs in the tackle box anymore. It gives you a heightened sense of confidence as you cast into any fish'n hole. I truly thank Pure Fishing and Berkley for designing a bait whose value cannot be measured or compared to any other in the tackle industry. Here's a few pics from today's catch!
