Sat. 3/11/07 Inshore Slams Plus!

3/11/07 We left the dock around 8:00am this morning with Mike Wellspeak and crew aboard looking for some trout/reds. It started out a little chilly with water temps about 55 and a slow bite. But the water temps came up to around 58 and the bite picked up. Most of our fish came off small Berkley gulp baits and Berkley Powerbaits fished on very light jigheads to keep our baits off the bottom and out of the "terd moss." Over the course of the trip we had about 45 strikes/hook-ups and managed to land 32 fish and again 7 species again this week. We had 15 redfish (1 tagged), 7 speckled trout, 2 flounder, 5 largemouth bass, 1 crappie, 1 chain pickerel, and a small catfish. We kept the trout and released everything else today. Great weather and great fishing. Mike, it was a pleasure having you guys onboard today. Let me know how you do next trip out. Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512
