NCCHARTERFISHING-Capt.'s Jeff Cronk and MIke Taylor-Crystal Coast, Swansboro, Emerald Isle

I left the dock this morning, 7/11 with Bill B. and his family aboard for some nearshore fishing targeting big Spanish and Kings. We had a fun day and landed a bunch of Spanish Mackerel from 3 to 6lbs and several Kings. The catch of a lifetime goes out to Brian today as he battled a 46 3/4lb King Mackerel on a 7ft Medium Fenwick Rod and Penn Conquer Reel spooled with Berkley 10lb smoke Fireline. We hooked up this monster King on a no. 6 gold treble hook rigged with 2inches of 30lb Malin wire and a 5in live pogie. Brian fought this king for about 25 min and his excellent skill combined with a little luck.... earned Brian a State Award and a fish of a lifetime on super light spin tackle!
