Rob Pearsal and his crew onboard this afternoon for a 4hr evening trip. We were relentless as we combed half a dozen bays in search of a school of reds. Eventually it all payed off. We found a shoreline peppered with Redfish from 22in to 28in. and had our way with them... Also picked up two flounder in the mix with the largest at 22in and 4 lbs 15oz.! Great job today! And two more first timers to redfish!

8/30/09 First Ever Redfish - twice today...

I ran two trips today and onboard both trips I had a client that had never experienced fighting and landing a redfish. Both of them did just that today.

Afternoon Flat Attack! Flounder around Emerald Isle!

I've been real busy lately and have missed a few days on the water... so, this afternoon I put the boat in the water and put a couple hours of scouting in... The flounder fishing was pretty good. I fished about an hour and a half and was able to land 6 flounder (missed a couple too). I had four between 2 and 4lbs. The ones below were 2.85 and 3.9lbs. I also found a good school of Redfish.... never tossed a bait into them... just eased by... knowing I'd be back to fish them in the next couple days... ;)

We caught around 16 fish with a limit consisting of two 14 pounders, one 17lbs,and Drew's was a 20lbs citation.

8/13 8 Limits of Keeper Flounder! Over 200 Total!

WOW! Absolutey some of the Best Flounder Fishing in NC! Mike and I loaded up both boats today at 7:30am (a total of 8) and headed out to film a 2009 nearshore flounder show. The weather was cam and the skies a little overcast but, the bite was on! The first stop we made kicked it all off. We got a total of 6hrs of fishing in today and landed an amazing bunch of over 200 Flounder with 8 limits of keepers and more we had to release. That's right... over 200 Flounder. We were averaging 1 keeper for every three fish today and landed 70 Keepers but kept our limit of 64. Every fish fell for a bucktail tipped with a Berkley Gulp bait. If you want to see all the action... look for it in the upcoming weeks on Carolina Fishing TV! www.carolinafishingtv.com

8/12 Nearshore Surface and Bottom Action!

8/12 Ren Clawson of New Bern, along with his Son and Grandson visiting from Germany, joined me today as we scouted out some nearshore action after a week of intense SW Winds. Well, a short 6hrs of looking was very promising. The big Spanish are present all though they weren't feeding very well. It was hard to get through all of the Barracuda today. We switched over to bouncing jigs for flounder during the last hour and were able to land about a dozen with 6 keepers of which we had a 3.5lb and a 4.7lb flatty! Great time today.

8/11/09 Morning with Jeff White and his son aboard for 3hrs of tracking down some reds. We quickly got on a school of reds and picked up a couple before they moved on. So, we moved to a shallow grass flat in search of another school but they weren't hanging around... instead, we were lucky enough to pick up a big black drum and a keeper flounder.

8/11 Afternoon with John Mcneish and his son, Trevor, onboard. We had a good time today chasing a school of redfish! Super Job guys!
