11/08/09 WoW! What a Day! Trout, Reds, Black Drum, Flounder, Blues, and More!

Well, I don't know if there are enough words to express how awsome of a day I had with my crew of Ross Felton and Mark Foster onboard. I think Mark was on a role of good luck after bagging an 8point buck with a 17in spread on Sat. then bringing that luck with him as he drove down to the coast from Raleigh this morning. We left the dock around 8am with blue skys and mild temp.'s. We went really skinny this morning blowing over 10in. of water through ditches to get to our fish. We eased up on our first spot and within 4 casts our float darted under water and the bite was on! We spent the next hour with a strike about every other cast. We pulled 4 nice trout from 1.5 to 2.5lbs out and released over a dozen black drum from 3 to 5lbs and kept 4 for the grill. The tide was right and sun up perfect to hit the surf for some serious Extreme sightfishing to massive schools of redfish! 15min. of searching and we were looking at over 1500 fish. We spent the next couple hours positioning the boat in the breakers with double and triple hookups time and time again. These reds ranged from 5lbs to 12+lbs and we had several fish with 30 to 60 spots! On our way back to the dock we found a massive school of 3 to 4lb chopper blues destroying anything we tossed.
