Well,,, the weather man usually messes up the weather for the worse... After Rescheduling my morning trip for another day because the 80% chance of rain and the 20mph SW winds we were supposed to have... The last minute weather forecast looked like the rain might hold off for a couple hours so some clients, Tim, Mike S. and his son Luke, that were nearby and were willing to change plans on short notice hopped onboard and we attempted to get 3 or 4hrs in before the winds picked up and the rain set in. We eased away around daybreak and our second spot offered up a couple 1 to 1.5lb Speckled Trout. We moved on to a third spot and picked up 4 more Specks from 1 to 2lbs along with a 24in Redfish that had 35 Spots! Everything we caught this mornig was on Berkley's Powerbait Shrimp. The tide started rising and we made our way to some creeks closer to the inlets and found some black drum. Using live shrimp we picked up 4 black drum from 3 to 5.5lbs, several small specks, and 3 grey trout from 12 to 15in. A Bad weather forecast wound up to be a decent morning and back to the dock by 10:45 when the wind began to pick up. Ross, sorry the weather man was wrong...maybe we shouldn't have cancelled... but the extreme redfishing wouldn't have worked as the surf was too choppy. We'll get you on them soon.
