10/6 Redfish eat Scallops!

10/6/09 This afternoon I had good friend and client Rich Digulio onboard for a short evening trip looking for trout and reds. The water clarity wasn't the best after all the rain but we managed to pick up a mixed bag of Speckled Trout, Pompano, Sea-mullet, Redfish, Flounder, and some hogfish. But, Rich definately wins the once in a lifetime award for his redfish. We were working this shallow grass flat just as the sun disappeared over the horizon and we could barely make out the topwater bait Rich was working. He had a redfish blow up on his bait but didn't hook up... the fish followed the bait almost to the side of the boat then, blew up again and hooked up... screaming line off. When Rich got this fish to the side of the boat we netted him and to our surprise one treble hook was in the fishes lip but the second treble was in the mouth of a scallop!
