Dec.29-Jan.1 High Winds and Little Trout...
Dec. 29th- With Mike Collins crew on this morning, we set out with a forecast of steady rain and a SW blow looking for some trout and reds. We probably should've stayed at the dock but we were too gung ho... We put our time in... over 8 hrs. today with not too much to show for it. we landed just a couple of small puppydrum and about 2 dozen speckled trout with 7 that were able to keep. Very little reward for a lot of work today. Hopefully the weather clears up soon as there are some good schools of redfish and trout waiting to be had.

Jan. 1st- Lowrance Rep., John Williams, hopped onboard this morning as we tryed to get out before the 25-30+mph winds began. We fished today from the new river back to Swansboro looking for anything willing to stretch a string on the 1st day of 2008. Everything was real slow first thing in the morning but we eventually found fish. We found a couple holes stacked up with Speckled Trout but unfortunately we had to measure most of our fish in order to take some home to eat. We wound up landing between 95 and 100 Speckled Trout in a 2 hour period around mid-day along with 5 puppy drum. I'm not sure where all the big trout went today but the action was so steady that it made for a fun afternoon... despite the strong wind...

been coming this site since you started it and just figured out I could reply. Just wanted to say high and thanks for all the great trips we have had with you and the tons of info you have shared with us. You have taught us to catch fish instead of just being on the water. Really enjoy reading your reports. Greg & Kay
Thanks Greg/Kay, It's been a blast everytime I've had you onboard. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Oh, thanks again for the calendar this year... you'll have to see if kay will start drawing the different fish she's catching and put them into one.
