9/1 Lost Count on the REDFISH today!!!!
What a Day! Started out the morning with Patrick L. on doing the Redfish thing.... tourny style... and we found a big school of 24 to 30in. fish in the backwaters of Swansboro. We were tossing strictly Topwater baits and were in the fish so thick we were able to anchor down on them in two feet of water. We spent several hours with continuous blow-ups, strikes, and hook-ups before the tide got into the woods and the fish moved on. We then moved on to work a couple of current rips off a shoreline and got into a few smaller fish between 18 and 20in. We headed back to the dock around noon to pick up Patrick's wife and two kids and finish up the trip. We made several stops working live shrimp under popping corks with only one 24in Redfish. Shortly after, we found a good eddie and rip off a point that has been holding fish. We worked this area for under 2 hours and caught and released another load of Reds. Great Job Everyone! ps... a good friend, Nate Sylvester, spyed us on the reds and came over in his Kayak to hook one up after getting permission to leave the house for a half-hour.... good job Nate! how you stuck to that half hour deal is beyond me... I would've been in trouble when I came paddling home at dark....
