7/29 Lots of Topwater Redfish!

This morning I had Lee and Jason onboard and we headed out early looking for some Redfish that would cooperate on the Topwater baits. It started very slow with only 1 bluefish during the first hour. Then, we found a school of about 30 to 40 Redfish working a shallow grassflat along the back of a bay. It was instant strikes and hook-ups with 22 to 26in Reds using topwater baits. The action lasted for about an hour before the tide dropped out too low and the fish moved on. We moved on and found a school of smaller 19 to 20in fish that were willing to hit Berkley Gulp Pogies on 1/16oz. Jigheads. Great morning... calm conditions allowing us to sightcast to these fish... and we managed about 20 surface strikes and hook-ups. We landed 10 reds and Jason got his 1st Redfish ever today. Super Job guys! Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512- jcronk@ec.rr.com
