They also boated a King Mackerel close to 15lbs and released about 20 grouper between 18 and 22in. Mike said they had several large grouper pull their baits into the bottom and break them off..... next trip out will have a couple of grouper sticks onboard. Super Job Guys- Capt. 9/23 6hr Trip. WORE THEM OUT!

6hr Trip with Steve Kurtz and his two sons aboard. The wind was howling today but we managed to find some fish out of the wind. We worked live shrimp to land a bunch of black drum up to 2lbs and spinner baits tipped with Berkley Gulp Shrimp to land 9 Redfish up to 29in. along with 5 Flounder with a couple of BIGENS! I spooled several rods prior to the trip with the new Berkley CRYSTAL Fireline. So far this stuff proves very effective. With an incredible breaking strength (strongest on the market according to tests performed on IGFA equipment)... and this stuff is clear like monofilament.... my clients got back to the dock and purchased a new rod/reel/ and spooled it with the Crystal. The fish'n is still on fire and the speckled trout bite is only going to get better..... along with the reds... just a few dates open between now and December... call asap if you want to fish in 2006 for trout/reds.

9/22 4hr trip- Reds, Black Drum, Speckled Trout!!!

Friday 9/22 4hr afternoon trip with Randy Crews, his son, and his mother aboard looking for some good backwater fishing. We started out toward the flats near Bogue and found some reds working and quickly put a 29in (9+lb) redfish on Camera. We moved on looking for either flounder or trout and lucked out! We found a good school of fish working along a tideline off a shallow shoal and landed a mess of fish on both live shrimp and 3in. paddle tail Berkley Gulp SW baits. We boated 8 speckled trout (15 to 19in), 7 black drum (1 to 2lbs), and a bronze back redfish about 24in. and then headed back to the dock to clean our catch. Thursday 9/21 REDFISH!

Thursday 9/21 Couldn't stand looking at the calm waters from shore this afternoon so, after taking care of some business I hopped on the boat with Jim Davis aboard and stopped on two spots to try and hook up some redfish before the sunset... Second spot was the ticket... the reds had pogies, mullet, and shrimp cornered into a shallow bay. We had a few quick hook-ups in about a foot of water on spinnerbaits with the second fish being 30.5in and 10.5lbs! Sweeeeet Fight! The fish struck a 3in. Berkley Glow Shrimp on a spinnerbait. Excellent work Jim! Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE- 910-326-7512

Wed. 9/20 4hr Afternoon

Jim Welborn Crew on this afternoon for a 4hr trip. We took off out the inlet and began working several areas from 2 to 3 miles off the beach for flounder. The bite was a little slow today and with just a few small fish we kept on moving to new areas. Well, we found a few decent sized flounder in 55ft of water toward the end of the trip and then the Coast Guard showed up and wasted about 25min of our fish time for a boarding... everything OK.... we headed back to the dock at 7:30 to clean our fish. Great Job guys and look forward to having you onboard for some trout fishing.... Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE - Swansboro- 910-326-7512 or 336-558-5697 or email jcronk@ec.rr.com

On the last area, we found a good pod of big flounder and put 7 more from 2 to 3.5lbs up along with a couple of shorties and a 2lb triggerfish... Sun. 9/17 4hr Afternoon Trip FLOUNDER/REDS

After putting 6HRS into cleaning and polishing the boat I dropped it into the river about 2:00pm and shot out the inlet with Rick onboard. We flew offshore running about 50 and dropped our jigs down on the first spot at 2:30. Withing a couple of snaps on the bait Rick put the first flounder (about 2.5lbs) in the boat. The action continued and we had 13 flounder with 10 keepers into the livewell by 4:00pm... We decided to head into the backwaters and pop a few redfish on the artifcials. I pulled up to a bay that's been holding some pretty 22-25in reds and on his 5th cast Rick hooked up with a 20in. red on the spinnerbait.... followed by a 24in red and a couple of 21-22in fish too... We picked up the trolling motor and hit some flats in the river to land 3 more reds and a flounder on the spinnerbaits... back to the dock at 6:30 with a mess of fish and some smiles... we put all the reds back today... but got a few pics of them... Sat 9/16

Well, Capt. Mike Taylor and I managed to schedule a day off on the same day for a change so we headed off the beach around 7:00am looking for some flounder. I left the camera on my boat at the house.... Capt. Jeff Cronk- Fish'n4life

Friday Afternoon 9/15

Well, I had the Clement crew onboard again this afternoon looking for some redfish. We worked location after location and couldn't seem to find a big school of fish but rather little pods. For more information contact Danny at 910-346-4328 or email him at fishthis88@yahoo.com and he can email you the tournament info. and entry form... - Capt. Jeff - FISH'N4LIFE

9/11/06 Many fisherman here around Swansboro as well as those coming down this way around the weekends have been asking where to find copies of the FISHERMAN'S POST magazine. I've contacted Gary Hurley of the magazine and he has provided me with the following list of marinas and stores that are supplied with the magazine when each issue hits the stands. I hope this helps those of you looking for your up to date fishing reports and info. You can also see the reports and obtain subscriptions online from their website at www.fishermanspost.com - Capt. 9/10/06 Sun. 6hr trip - the Clement crew onboard again this season.... this time we were out for some of the awsome redfish'n that we're experiencing again this year around Swansboro. We found fish on almost every area we stopped on.... The reds today ranged from 22in. to 24in. and were striking Spinner baits/gulp minnows as well as topwater baits. 9/9/06 Sat. Full Day today was a different kind of trip. I had client George Hall, his daughter, and grandson for an 8hr trip onboard George's brand new 22 SeaPro. We outrigged the entire boat with gear, rods, and tackle then went over navigation and how to operate the electronics.... then we spent part of the day fishing in the ocean. We managed to get on a decent flounder bite for a couple of hours and put 10 keepers from 1.5 to 3.75lb in the cooler and even had a 10-12ft hammer head at the side of the boat try to eat one of our flounder.... Too close as I was lifting the flounder from the water by hand..... Great Day... Great Job Guys.... Capt. Jeff Cronk- FISH'N4LIFE 910-326-7512 OR EMAIL jcronk@ec.rr.com

Fri 9/8 4hr pm trip. Pat Campbell with a very nice speckled trout on a spinner bait w/ a berkley gulp 3in. white curlytail in the White Oak River. We spent about 3 and 1/2 hours working spinner baits and topwater baits and managed to land 7 redfish, 1 speckled trout, 1 blackdrum, and 1 flounder.... The weather is very pleasant in the afternoon and early evening hours this time of year and therefore offers some great fishing opportunities for after work hours for those folks unable or not wanting to get up super early.... Mike and I still have a few mornings open for Sept./ Oct. and plenty of late afternoons. Capt. Jeff Cronk 910-326-7512 or Capt.
