Well, today was one of those days were you are reminded why we love fishing so much. Left the dock about 7 am with my good friend Chet and headed to the Jetty. We were on the Trout pretty thick and probably caught 40 plus on Gulp baits. We also managed about a dozen nice Drum, with one of the Drum having NO spots at all. Thats a new one for me. Around noon we decided to jump the shoals and head off to deep water. I found some warm water and bait holding to structure so the baits went in the water, almost immediately we were hooked into a 18 lb Kingfish. We decided to anchor to bounce the bottom while we worked the upper water column with ballon rigs. Started with Beeliners, Ringtales and then a 24 1/2 inch Grouper. Meanwhile we are still catching a King every so often. Next a huge Black Sea Bass and as we were clearing lines to go a nice King smoked off a couple hundred yards of line and after a few minutes we had a healthy 30 lber in the bag. It was nothing but smiles as we pointed the bow towards home.
