Carribian Clear Water! Reds! Trout! and Black Drum!
1\16/2010
Wow! is all I have to say after the sight my crew and I had most of the day today. I left the dock this morning with Ryan A., his father, and their good friend Brian. We made a long run to some areas I haven' hit a while. At daybreak we started trout fishing and after 45min. and only two trout (a 1.5lber and a throw back) we decided to take advantage of the slick cam conditions. I made another long run to some shoals to look for some reds. When we arrived the water was super clear due to the calm seas this week. The air and water temp was up and after 15 min. of looking we located a school of 3 to 4 thousand redfish! These fish were eating like mad! We eased around all morning catching and releasing reds from 23 to 26in. We made a few runs and found several larger schools. While fishing these fish we also hooked up a nice 3lb speckled trout and a black drum about 4lbs. With between 60-70 catch and releases, absolute gin clear water, slick seas, and massive schools of fish all around us.... it was paradise! PS... check out the photo of 3000-4000 reds that were within 10yds of the boat and cover the entire bottom as far as you could see in the photo! click on the pick to enlarge it and look carefully in the water.
